Dominican Republic

Dominican Republic

-is an impressive blend of geographical wonders that connects from crystal clear beaches to towering mountain peaks. A series of tropical jungles and pine forests dress the countryside and are intermingled with expansive desert plains.

The Dominican Republic takes up the eastern two-thirds of the Caribbean island of Hispaniola. The remaining one third is comprised of the country of Haiti. The island in Punta Cana is made up of highlands and mountains with valleys intermix.

The Dominican Republic has the largest economy in the Caribbean and Central American region and is the eighth-largest economy in Latin America.

On this island, Christopher Columbus made his first stop in 1492, which later on became the first capital of the Spanish empire in the Americas. Some of the places in DR has the Spanish heritage still existing up to the present time.
